Combatlog not... logging?

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, I have warcraft logs up, I hit live log before we start our first pull (I ensure it goes into the folder I want it to go into so I can find it, select guild, mark public, hit Go!etc), and do the command /combatlog. The chat comes back and says something like “combatlog started”. I figure everything is hunkydory, and we head into our raid. After we are done and the raid lead calls it for the night, I type the command again, and it replies that combat logging has ended, I alt tab to the warcraft logs launcher and hit stop, and click view report. It takes me to (https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/HZjDtXNwKPFAfagR/), but it’s a blank black screen that says “This report contains no fights yet.”

I mouse over our Guild and click on reports on that page and this is what I see.

What have I done wrong? We’re casual raiders and just wanna see how we do and who is standing in the mechanics, etc.

Any help or guidance is welcome.

You may have missed this crucial step:

  • In the game, go to System Settings -> Network -> then tick/enable ‘Advanced Combat Logging’

I suspect that’s what you’re missing, but if not, then I’m not sure what the issue might be.

If its live logging, sometimes people pick the incorrect directory to monitor. Note the logs folder is under a retail subdirectory these days.

Thank you for replying! I’ll check through my settings again to see if there’s something I missed.

Thanks for this! I found one of my logs in the WoW>retail>Logs folder. Thank you so much, this will help us out immensely.
