Thanks so much for all your hard work! sorry to revive and old thread but I do have a question. I play a shaman tank (I know there’s not many of us, but we do exist in classic!) and the > 50% of the boss melee attacks should work perfectly to categorize me as tank during boss fights, but I’m assuming that since I’m not in the typical three tanking classes I would always be categorized as DPS. Is there any way I can tweak the logs on my side to make me appear as one of the tanking classes for ranking purposes?
I recently had a problem where I parsed as a tank on vael because I overaggrod at the very end and died. Yes I was 2nd on tanking damage, but to me it seems wrong to classify my damage as tank.
@Kihra 35% in defensive stance doesn’t seem to be working when I used direct Stance change (in combat) or Shield Block as my Defensive stance indicator on Ebonroc and Flamegore in the following log.
Any insight on why or what markers are needed?
(Chisum - warrior, OT’ing but with no aggro time in these 2 fights)
I sent an email to wcl about this already but you can easily check if someone is a tank or a dps based on their spec.
IF you are the correct fury tank spec you will be taking defiance and NOT deep wounds, this will mean anyone without ANY deep wounds in the raid will be a fury defiance tank.
IF you have Deep Wounds and are using Shield Slam this will also make you a tank as there is another deep prot tank spec which takes shield slam and impale.
No other viable tank spec should be taking deep wounds.
Fury warriors who act as tanks for their guilds are NOT tanks, your threat is only good because your dps are shit and can’t keep up. Keep these players as DPS who take damage NOT tanks.
