[Bug] Logs showing fights shorter than they were

Reporting a bug on a log uploaded from my guild yesterday (03/29/2016) in which the fights lenght where sometimes 1min and 30s (!!!) shorter than another log uploaded of the same tries. Meaning that our numbers are waay higher than reality and misleading the ranking numbers. I’d like to make clear our innocence on this matter since I am the one reporting (one of the raiders with crazy high numbers) and our guild uploaded the other log (clean one) aswell.
Is there something we can do on our end to avoid gathering wrong data such as these?

This means the log was missing the ENCOUNTER_START event for the fight. It’s either Blizzard’s bug or the combat log was turned on after the fight had started.

But if the combat log was started after the fight had started, wouldn’t it be missing some stuff like the prepots? (sorry in advance for the potential silliness)

If the entire fight is there but the duration is wrong, it could also be a buggy computer system clock.
