Can anyone explain why Priests spell Power Word: Shield is being added as healing, when it’s not healing…

Cause I feel like if this is going to be the normal, then Power Word: Barrier and Pain Suppression should also be adding to the healing meter cause they also reduce the amount of damage taken along with druid’s Barkskin.

Absorbs count as healing in WCL, they’ve always did. We do have a mitigations counting as healing added for retail as well. But we do not rank it yet as we need to further work on it.
